About Dr. Basalely

Daniel Basalely, DPM, provides patient-centered surgical and non-surgical podiatry treatment at Starrett Podiatry in its six New York offices.

In 2007, Dr. Basalely graduated magna cum laude from Yeshiva University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He then delved deeper into the world of science by working as a research assistant at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which pursues cutting-edge biomedical research.

In that capacity, Dr. Basalely assisted for a year on the Einstein Aging Study, a long-term research project which focuses on the changes in walking patterns and mobility that accompany aging.

Dr. Basalely returned to school in 2008 as a student at Manhattan’s New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM), where he earned the Pedinol Award for Excellence in Dermatology. During this time, Dr. Basalely also co-authored a report focused on a patient suffering from the type of cancer known as Kaposi’s sarcoma, which was presented at the National American Podiatric Medical Association Annual Scientific Meeting in 2011 and also published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery in 2012.

Shortly after earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2012, Dr. Basalely began a four-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan. Here, he received hands-on training in minimal incision surgery as well as forefoot and rearfoot surgery, wound care, sports medicine, and treatment of Charcot's foot.

Dr. Basaley is a member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association, which allows him to stay abreast of today’s research and latest treatment options.

Dr. Basalely values cultural diversity and getting to know each of his patients at Starrett Podiatry, which he joined in 2016. Besides speaking English and Hebrew, Dr. Basalely can also convey medical terminology in Spanish and Farsi.
