Raffaella Buffolino, DPM, is a compassionate and capable podiatrist at Starrett Podiatry in Brooklyn, and New York, New York, whose own experiences as a patient with a chronic condition inspired her to pursue a profession helping others.

In 2005, Dr. Buffolino graduated with departmental honors from Adelphi University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Shortly after graduation from Adelphi, Dr. Buffolino enrolled in Manhattan's New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) in Harlem, New York. Dr. Buffolino earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2009 and began a podiatric medicine and surgery residency at the New York Hospital of Queens (NYHQ) in Flushing that same year.

Due to her exemplary work, Dr. Buffolino was appointed to serve as chief resident for a one-year term. After completing her residency, Dr. Buffolino further honed her skills with a wound care fellowship at St John's Episcopal Hospital from 2013 to 2014, where she administered hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other treatments to help patients with diabetes, venous stasis, lymphocytosis and other conditions that affect the soft tissues.

Starrett Podiatry welcomed Dr. Buffolino to the team in 2014 after passing the American Board of Podiatric Medicine exam. Since joining the team, she has worked tirelessly to provide her patients with the utmost level of care in a comfortable environment.

Dr. Buffolino thinks of her patients as family and always makes the extra effort to ensure they understand their conditions and the treatment options available to them. Along with English, Dr. Buffolino speaks Spanish and fluent Italian.

Dr. Buffolino contributes to the broader community through her involvement in several charitable causes and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and the American Association for Women Podiatrists.
